Let me stop myself for a second and reflect on how far it's come in just 2 days. That'll make me feel better. First, a little background info on the new home - all the walls had been painted (no wallpaper) but the great areas we a pink/peachy color and the bedrooms and bathrooms were a mint green. We decided they gots-ta-go.
The master bedroom - painting is finished!
The living room. I am happy to report that it is completely painted now as well. You can kind of see the pink color that was originally on the walls.
The dining room getting prepped for painting.
Okay, I do feel a little bit better. I don't mean to complain and I am so fortunate and blessed. I just feel like life is coming at me really fast lately. I'm so afraid I'm going to miss something. I hate this anxious feeling. I think it's time for some Bible study and KLOVE listening to calm myself down. But this is just what way it goes - when you think it's about to slow down, it kicks into high gear.
Other than the fast paced housing situation, I did get to enjoy some time with friends this weekend. Saturday morning, Erin and I got up and the crack of dawn to go to a garage sale. This was no ordinary garage sale. This was a neighborhood wide garage sale with around 80 houses participating. So, we stocked up on Starbucks and waited patiently in line to be allowed in the neighborhood. It was honestly so overwhelming for me. I need baby steps, ha! I did manage to snag a great cookbook for $.50 and a beautiful fall wreath. I can't wait to hang it on my new front door! :)
Saturday night I had dinner with some of my best childhood friends. We were at the restaurant for nearly 6 hours just talking, cracking up, and reminiscing about the old days. It was so good for my heart. I hadn't seen one of the girls in about 7 years and I felt so good to hear her voice and her laugh. She still had that same goofiness as she did when we were kids. I love when people stay true to who they are.
It's time for me to get back to the school stuff - I have a stack of papers to grade! As Monday approaches and we all feel the stress of the approaching week, I'm going to make a point to sit down and list out my many blessings. Sometimes we just need to stop, breathe, and give thanks.
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
