So after I got done stuffing myself with carbs & sugar, I started my new workout. I love it! Just what I needed. You may laugh at the name (it's okay - I do too), but so far it has been awesome. I was getting bored with my old workout routine and had hit a plateau. This did the trick! It's by Beach Body, the same makers of P90X. Don't get me wrong, I loved me some P90X, but after a year of doing it off and on, it was time for something else.
Loving it! Perfect mix of cardio & toning/sculpting. Plus it comes with a really great cookbook and a 6 day jumpstart diet to kick it off. The 6 day "diet" is no different from eating clean so that wasn't much of a chore. I'm in a wedding this weekend so I have to stay dedicated to fit into my BD dress.
Cuteness, right? Gotta love J.Crew! Their spring line is out and they have some of the cutest clothes but my husband would
Another weakness of mine...ice cream. No really. It is. If you know me, you know about my love for ice cream. I eat it every night. I don't care how healthy I normally eat, ice cream is my downfall. I like to say I eat healthy so that I can eat ice cream and not feel guilty. I l.o.v.e. it. So, I recently stumbled across a milkshake recipe that I had to try. And sure enough, it did not disappoint. It's kind of interesting. I never imaged these ingredients working together but they did! I found the recipe from Cupcakes and Cashmere's Blog (thank you, Sarah, for introducing me to this addicting blog) who got it from here and I knew I must try it out for myself!
Toasted Marshmallow Milkshake
Ingredients:
*3 scoops vanilla ice cream (I used Blue Bell because that was in my freezer)
*1 tablespoon whole milk (I don’t drink whole milk, so I used 1 ½ - 2 tbsp skim)
*1 large dollop of plain yogurt
*5 Kraft Jumbo Jef-Puffed marshmallows
*Whipped cream (optional)
Directions:
1) Toast marshmallows under a broiler, or, if you're frisky, over a flame until they just start to blacken evenly (the trick is to make sure it's evenly toasted and dark, but not turned to charcoal).
2) Put the milk, yogurt, and then ice cream in the blender. Blend carefully, just until you get a "donut"—when you see the shake holding to the sides of the blender with a hollow core.
3) Add three of the toasted marshmallows to the blender, and whirl it just until they're all broken up and distributed evenly. Be careful not to overblend it, making it too melty.
4) Pour shake into a glass, top with a dollop of whipped cream, break the last two marshmallows on top, and serve with an extra-wide straw.
5) Repeat if necessary. And it will probably be necessary.
Enjoy ;)
Oh yeah, just as a side note...Did y'all watch The Office Thursday night?
It's been a favorite of mine for years (and J too). Will Ferrell as the new boss?! Yes, please! They managed to keep this fan tuning in every week. I was so sad when I heard Michael was leaving, but this makes it less painful. :)
XOXO
